Member Organisations
The New Zealand Breastfeeding Alliance (NZBA) advocates for breastfeeding to become the cultural norm in New Zealand.
NZBA promotes the services of its member organisations that provide day-to-day advice on breastfeeding to the community as opposed to being a point of call for personal advice on breastfeeding and infant feeding.
A key role is to assess hospitals, health facilities, maternity and community-based services on compliance with the WHO/UNICEF "Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding". This is irrespective of the method of feeding promoted to pregnant women and mothers with infants or young children.
